A bill relating to owning primates as pets

Go here for the text of this bill. The bill would make it illegal to own or possess non-human primates as pets. Violations could mean fines from $250-$1,000; jail time up to 93 days and 500 hours of community service. 

The bill exempts zoos, research labs, veterinarians, primate sanctuaries, law enforcement or those that are kept under a permit.
